Guwahati, October 28: The campus of Cotton University witnessed a protest on Wednesday as students demanded justice for late singer Zubeen Garg. Protesters expressed frustration, claiming that even after a year of the judicial process, no outcome had been achieved. Students of B. Borooah College and Handique Girls’ College also staged protests demanding justice for the singer.
Speaking during the protest, youth leader Tridiv Bhagawati said, “Those who may have used the artist or Zubeen da for their own interests may no longer stand with him, but the student community stands with Zubeen da.”
Meanwhile, the Asomiya Yuva Mancha staged a protest near Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati, also demanding justice for Zubeen Garg. Protests by students and youth organisations have kept the demand for justice in public discussion across Assam.
