Cases registered against students who protested at Jantar Mantar will be withdrawn and no further harsh action will be taken against them, BJP president J. P. Nadda said.
Nadda said that on July 25, 2026, he, the central government and Dr Jitendra Singh had communicated with representatives of the students involved in the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar.
According to Nadda, the government had assured the representatives that students’ future would be kept in view. He said discussions were also held with BJP-ruled state governments and that the assurance would be fulfilled.
Nadda welcomed the students’ decision to withdraw their proposed protest scheduled for September 5. He said the progress and development of young people was the government’s foremost priority.
