Union Home Minister Amit Shah said people should not feel inferior for speaking their own language, stressing that language connects them with the country’s culture, history and roots.
In remarks shared in a video, Shah said there was no difficulty in learning any language in the world. However, he said believing that speaking one’s own language makes a person smaller would be a greater wrong.
“Language is what connects us to the country’s culture and history, and connects us to our roots,” Shah said.
He added that if the roots are cut, even the biggest tree cannot survive.
