MAHARASHTRA: Shocking details have emerged in the investigation into the alleged question paper leak in the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Drug Inspector examination.
WhatsApp messages recovered during the investigation reportedly show that a candidate was advised to deliberately give at least 10 wrong answers in the examination.
Investigators suspect the candidate was warned that answering every question correctly could raise suspicion about the authenticity of the leaked paper.
Alleged Links To Paper Leak
According to investigators, some accused MPSC officials allegedly gave this advice to candidate Rituja Patil.
The investigation reportedly found that 294 questions were illegally obtained from question sets prepared by experts.
Of these, 77 questions allegedly appeared in the actual examination with the same options.
Question Paper Received Two Days Before Exam
Rituja Patil appeared for the MPSC Drug Inspector examination held on March 22.
According to the investigation, she allegedly received the leaked question paper two days before the examination, on March 20.
Investigators allege that Rituja initially sought money from her boyfriend, Gaurav Patil, to purchase the question paper.
Her father, Amrut Patil, allegedly later provided the money for the purchase.
Alleged ₹12 Lakh Deal
Investigators allege that the question paper was purchased from Pravin Patil, the owner of a coaching centre in Nandurbar.
The investigation reportedly found that around ₹5 lakh was initially paid as part of the transaction.
The total deal for the leaked question paper was allegedly worth around ₹12 lakh.
Investigators also claimed that a copy of the question paper was handed over to Amrut Patil at a flat in the Pathardi Phata area of Nashik.
Three MPSC Officials Named
According to the investigation, Pravin Patil allegedly contacted three MPSC officials regarding the question paper.
The names of Vishweshwar Dattatray Nakate, Abhijit Ganpatrao Landge and Gopal Bhattu Marathe have emerged in connection with the investigation.
Investigators further allege that a copy of the leaked paper eventually reached Rituja’s boyfriend, Gaurav.
Exam Results Raised Further Questions
Both Rituja and Gaurav appeared for the Drug Inspector examination.
After the results were declared, Rituja reportedly secured seventh position, while Gaurav failed to qualify.
Investigators said this allegedly led to tension between the two.
Investigation Began After Boyfriend’s Complaint
According to investigators, Gaurav approached the police and complained about the alleged question paper leak after he was unable to accept Rituja’s success.
Although he later withdrew the complaint, police had already begun investigating the allegations.
As the investigation progressed, the names of several people allegedly linked to the paper leak network emerged.
The WhatsApp messages recovered during the probe have now added another sensational layer to the alleged MPSC paper leak case.
