Mumbai, October 28: The latest poster of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action film King has sparked a debate on social media, with some users drawing comparisons with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, popularly known as Dhurandhar 2. Unveiled on October 27, the poster has received mixed reactions, with some fans questioning its originality while others praised Shah Rukh’s rugged appearance.
What Does the Poster Show?
The new King poster features Shah Rukh Khan with grey hair, a beard and a distressed leather jacket. He is holding a gun in one hand, with a red rose between his teeth. The background appears to show a burning aircraft.
The fiery backdrop, colour grading, composition and overall visual treatment prompted comparisons with Dhurandhar 2. The latter features Ranveer Singh walking towards the camera against a backdrop of flames.
Social Media Users Question Originality
Following the poster’s release, some social media users questioned its originality. Several compared its visual style with Dhurandhar 2, while others drew parallels with promotional artwork from other action films.
Some users also speculated about the possible use of artificial intelligence in creating the poster. However, no verified evidence has established that the artwork was copied or generated using AI. These remain claims and opinions expressed on social media.
Meanwhile, many Shah Rukh Khan fans praised his intense and rugged appearance. The poster has therefore received a mixed response online.
Shah Rukh’s Caption Draws Attention
Sharing the poster, Shah Rukh wrote, “Aaj phir yaad aaya… Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…” The line recalls the title track of his earlier film Baadshah, adding a romantic note to the otherwise intense action-themed image.
