Toxic Box Office Collection Day 3: Yash Film Crosses ₹140 Crore in India

Toxic Box Office Collection Day 3: Yash Film Crosses ₹140 Crore in India

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups opened with a massive ₹101 crore in India, but the film witnessed a sharp drop on its second day. As the movie enters the crucial weekend, the big question is whether the extended holiday period can bring the box office momentum back.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic hit theatres on August 26 and opened to one of the biggest starts of the year. The film collected around ₹101.10 crore net in India on its opening day, according to early box-office tracking.

However, the momentum slowed considerably on Day 2.

The film added around ₹37.65 crore net in India on Thursday, taking its two-day domestic total to approximately ₹138.75 crore. Live tracking on Friday showed the film moving past the ₹140 crore mark, although Day 3 figures were still changing.

From ₹101 crore opening to a sharp Day 2 drop

The contrast between the first two days is striking.

Day 1: ₹101.10 crore
Day 2: ₹37.65 crore

The second-day decline has raised questions about whether Toxic can maintain its opening-week momentum.

The film is also facing mixed audience and critical reactions, making the weekend particularly important. A strong Saturday and Sunday could help it recover from the Day 2 slowdown, while another significant drop could put pressure on its longer theatrical run.

Toxic crosses ₹190 crore worldwide

Despite the domestic slowdown, the film has made a strong start globally.

After two days, Toxic’s worldwide gross was reported at around ₹190.10 crore, including its overseas earnings. The film is therefore closing in on the ₹200 crore worldwide milestone very early in its theatrical run.

The overseas market has provided an important boost to the film’s overall numbers.

Yash leads a star-studded cast

Toxic marks another major pan-India release for Yash following the success of the KGF franchise.

The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and features Yash in a dual role. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria are also part of the cast.

The story is set against a period backdrop in Goa and follows a sprawling gangster saga involving family, power and betrayal.

Can the weekend change Toxic’s box-office story?

That is now the biggest question.

The film has several factors working in its favour, including Yash’s massive fan base, its pan-India release and the extended holiday period.

But the sharp Day 2 fall and mixed response have also created a challenge.

Toxic now needs strong weekend growth to turn its huge opening into sustained box-office momentum.

For now, the film has already crossed the ₹100 crore India mark and is approaching ₹200 crore worldwide. Whether it can continue at that pace will become clearer over the next few days.

Toxic may have started like a blockbuster—but its real box-office test begins now.
