New Delhi, November 1: BJP MP and spokesperson Sambit Patra on Sunday criticised the INDIA bloc over its rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, claiming that nearly 40 per cent of the venue was empty.
Calling the Opposition gathering a “flop show”, Patra said the alliance had failed to draw the expected crowd. He claimed that the turnout fell short of what the organisers had anticipated.
Patra also took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his speech at the rally. He said he had been watching the event since morning and listening carefully to Gandhi’s remarks, but eventually felt that the entire exercise had been a waste of time.
The INDIA bloc organised the rally to protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
