Rahul Daimary, a resident of No. 1 Joypukhuri in Merapani, Golaghat, has been missing in Nepal since devastating floods struck on the 26th, his family said.
Daimary had been working in Nepal for around a year as a supervisor at a company identified as N Riden. He had left home on August 14 to return to work, the family said.
The family said Daimary’s name has appeared on a list of missing people, but they have received no further information and have not been able to contact him since the floods.
His wife, who works at a private school in Sikkim, is not currently in Merapani. Daimary had married around a year ago, while his father died about a month ago, the family said.
The family has appealed to the Golaghat administration, the Assam government and the local MLA and minister to take up the matter with the Government of India and establish contact with Nepal to trace Daimary.
