New Delhi, November 1: Former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mamata Banerjee launched a sharp attack over the 2026 West Bengal Assembly election results while addressing the INDIA bloc rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Sunday. She claimed that her party had not genuinely lost the election but had been deliberately made to lose.
Beginning her address, Banerjee thanked those present for their solidarity and support. In a sarcastic remark, she also referred to the “Cockroach Janta Party” while acknowledging the support extended to her.
Alleging that West Bengal had become a victim of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, Banerjee said the state would not accept what she described as an assault on democracy and voting rights.
“They looted Bengal. We will bring back democracy from Delhi. They looted democracy, rights and elections,” she said.
Targeting Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Banerjee alleged that the issue was not limited to the deletion of voters’ names, claiming that the vote-counting process had also been centrally manipulated.
“We didn’t lose, we were made to lose,” she declared.
Issuing a political challenge, the former Chief Minister said her party would fight back through democratic politics. “We will take revenge through politics,” she said.
Her remarks came amid the INDIA bloc’s campaign against the SIR exercise and its allegations of irregularities in the electoral process.
