Yogi Adityanath calls Congress ‘mentally bankrupt’, targets SP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called the Congress “mentally bankrupt” and “deranged”, accusing it of creating conspiracies and casting constitutional institutions in the dock.

In a video shared from his X account, Adityanath also targeted the Samajwadi Party, saying the time would come to teach both parties a lesson. He appealed to people to reject those whom he accused of insulting India and its constitutional institutions.

Adityanath said Maharshi Valmiki had connected Indians with Lord Ram, followed by Goswami Tulsidas in the medieval period. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with restoring that pride through the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla, and alleged that those opposed to Ram could not accept it.

He alleged that the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, by questioning constitutional institutions, were insulting the Constitution and freedom fighters including Rani Lakshmibai, Nana Saheb Peshwa, Tatya Tope, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ram Prasad Bismil, Thakur Roshan Singh and Ashfaqulla Khan.

Adityanath further said such criticism amounted to disrespect towards B R Ambedkar and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, among others associated with building India’s constitutional framework. The video post did not specify which actions or statements by the opposition parties he was referring to.
