Abhijeet Dipke has questioned Delhi Police after citing reports that a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Delhi and taken around for 47 km without being rescued.
In a video posted on X, Dipke alleged that police neither noticed the crime nor made an effort to stop it. He asked what Delhi’s large police force was doing while the incident reportedly unfolded in the national capital.
Dipke contrasted the reported case with heavy police deployment at protests at Jantar Mantar. He said thousands of police personnel, RAF forces and other agencies had been deployed to stop and deal with student protesters, and asked why comparable resources were not used for women’s safety.
He also criticised the use of lathis, tear gas and pellet guns against protesters, including girls and students, while questioning where such action was when crimes against women were reported. Dipke described the matter as a failure of the police and the Home Minister.
Saying that it was 2026 and that women still did not feel safe in Delhi, Dipke said friends had told him the city was unsafe for them. He asked when girls in India would be able to feel safe while outside.
