Zubeen Garg Was Not an Alcoholic, Drank One or Two Pegs!

Zubeen Garg Was Not an Alcoholic, Drank One or Two Pegs!

Zubeen Garg used to drink alcohol occasionally, but he was not an alcoholic, his friend Harishwar Mahanta said while speaking to the media. Mahanta also spoke about Zubeen’s professional decisions, manager Siddharth Sharma and the ongoing legal process surrounding the singer’s case.

According to Mahanta, Zubeen Garg took his own decisions when it came to social work or helping someone. However, decisions related to his professional work, including programmes and schedules, were largely handled by his manager Siddharth Sharma.

Mahanta said there were occasions when Zubeen himself did not know in advance where or when he had to attend a programme. He was sometimes informed about the details only shortly before the event.

‘Zubeen was not an alcoholic’

One of the key points made by Mahanta was about Zubeen Garg’s drinking habits.

“Zubeen drank alcohol, but he was not an alcoholic,” Mahanta said.

According to him, Zubeen would sometimes have one or two pegs, but drinking was not a regular part of his lifestyle.

Mahanta also said that after Zubeen suffered a seizure in 2020, he never saw the singer drinking alcohol during the periods when they stayed together or met.

Who took Zubeen’s professional decisions?

Mahanta’s comments also shed light on the singer’s professional management.

He said that while Zubeen personally decided when he wanted to help someone or become involved in social work, his professional commitments were managed by Siddharth Sharma.

This included decisions related to programmes, schedules and other professional arrangements.

The comments came in the context of the ongoing legal process, where questions have been raised about how Zubeen’s professional and financial affairs were handled.

Suspicion over alleged financial misuse

Speaking about the allegations of financial misuse against Siddharth Sharma, Mahanta said he was not personally involved in Zubeen’s professional or financial matters.

However, he said that changes in Siddharth Sharma’s lifestyle and spending pattern had raised questions in his mind about whether Zubeen’s money was being misused.

Mahanta did not claim to have personally handled or verified the financial transactions. His comments were based on the circumstances and changes he said he had observed.

‘Still hopeful of justice’

Mahanta also said that he remains hopeful of getting justice in the matter.

He referred to the ongoing legal process and said that 112 witnesses have so far been mentioned in connection with the proceedings.

His comments offer a glimpse into Zubeen Garg’s personal habits, professional management and the questions surrounding his finances, while the legal process continues.

The statements made by Mahanta are his account and observations. Allegations relating to financial misuse remain subject to investigation and the outcome of the legal process.
