BJP national president Nitin Nabin has criticised Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his controversial remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s father at a public event in Patna, accusing the Congress of abandoning political decorum.

Kharge made the remark on Sunday, October 25, during an event marking the 139th birth anniversary of Bihar’s first Chief Minister, Shri Krishna Singh. He was interrupted by a person in the audience who said that Modi would not leave office. Kharge responded, “Modi ka baap bhi jayega,” triggering a political controversy. <Cite refs={[“turn880124search1″,”turn880124search4”]}/>

Reacting to the incident, Nabin described Kharge’s language as “indecent and unparliamentary” and said it reflected what he called the Congress party’s “ideological bankruptcy”.

The BJP chief alleged that targeting the Prime Minister and his family had become part of the Congress’s political culture. Referring to former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, he accused party leaders of repeatedly making personal remarks against Modi and his family.

Nabin further claimed that such comments reflected frustration within the Congress and asserted that voters would hold the party accountable for its political conduct. He said millions of people continued to support the Prime Minister and that the public would respond to such remarks.
